| Customer Reviews:
Neat idea and design , poor operation July 12, 2008 domeboy (Rochester, New York United States) I almost ordered one of these sight unseen after reading all the good reviews. I happened to be at Lowes and looked at one and I am glad I did. Although the size and design is theoretically quite good, the construction is a bit flimsy and the operation of the swing out is not good. To start with, the bottom did not meet the middle properly, so there was a misshapen gap. The bottom actually slides out as you try to swing it open, and it is far from smooth. Maybe I was doing something wrong but it is very clumsy. The hinge on the top seems quite flimsy also and I think if you put the tool tray out on it with any kind of weight, it will break before too long. The middle trays are quite nice and the top section covers them well. The latches are strong but again, quite clumsy. All and all, if this were about si-xty i would buy, but not at what they are asking. If they had made it more sturdy with a solid hinge and a better swing mechanism, I would even pay more than asking price cause the idea is certainly good. It's too bad. If you are considering buying one, definitely go look first.
Tough Enough For Police Work May 22, 2008 Forensic Sgt. (VA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We have several of these in our PD to carry evidence gear for crime scenes. So far, they have held up very well. If we can't break them, then they cannot be broken. Good Stuff!
awesome toolbox May 14, 2008 Daniel Lochner (Ontario, New York) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This toolbox is great. I have owned other rolling toolboxes and this one has them all beat for sheer access to all your tools. Seems to be built well and for the price it cannot be beat. Lots of room.
Great box May 1, 2008 Mark A. Bray (Texas Hill Country) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have had my FatMax 4in1 box for more than a month and would buy another in a heartbeat. I condensed two household boxes into this box and have room to grow. The bottom box is home to my Ryobi five peice One+ cordless tool set including spare batteries, charger, and drill/driver set (and some other odd shapped things like my square). The middle box is perfect for my electrical parts and peices including crimper, pliers, etc. plus more spare batteries, tape measures, and more. The top box is more than ample for handtools. The best part of the box is it's portability. It is great to move from project to project and not have to run around the house or shop looking for the right tool or part. As an added benefit, when the top box lid is open, it has compartments to temporarly store small parts and screws/nails while a project is under way. It's a great box that I will rely on for a long time. My wife is considering buying one for her stamp/scrapbook/art supplies. She would have already completed the purchase if the box came in colors besides black.
BEST TOOL BOX April 23, 2008 Rodolfo M. Jaminola 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I will say that this is the best portable tool box I've ever had. It is portable but hold most of my frequently used tools. I now know where all my tools are. It is very mobile and just roll out of my garage and all the tools that i need are there. At this time, it's not even full yet. Worth the money for sure. Do your research, but due to it's mutiple function level system, the awkwardness of getting tools out is totally elimated........you'll end up back to this product
