Product Description Sleek Aluminum Design, easy to use Gourmet Olive Oil Sprayer by Misto.
Amazon.com Review For spreading olive oil evenly on bruschetta, focaccia, and grilled or roasted vegetables, and for spraying muffin and cake pans with vegetable oil, this dispenser is a nifty tool. A plastic cap underneath the sprayer's top twists off so the sprayer can be half-filled (1/3 cup) with oil. Inside the top is a plastic tube that fits over the spray nozzle. Push the top up and down to pump air pressure into the canister. Then spray for 10 seconds and pump up again. It's simple, ingenious, and practical. With its cap on, the sprayer stands just 7-5/8 inches high, so it tucks away easily on any countertop. Made of satin-finish aluminum with a black-band accent, it's sleek as well as utilitarian. --Fred Brack

Very Handy January 2, 2009 JRSF (San Francisco, CA USA) Love the Misto sprayer. I've been using a regular spray bottle for olive oil for years. What was I thinking? I need to get another one for balsamic vinegar. Have had no problem with its misting so far. Great purchase.
Useful Gadget December 19, 2008 smv135 (Atlanta, GA) I purchased one of these sprayers because my dad has one and loves it. I've found that I used it a lot and it's a lot less messy than pulling out a bottle of olive oil and dripping it all over the place. The only one thing that I don't like about it (and the reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5) is that it tends to change between a direct stream of olive oil to a mist and then back again. This may be a user error, but I can't figure out what I might be doing wrong. Either way, I'm still glad to have this gadget as part of my kitchen.
Reasonable item for its price December 17, 2008 John (OH USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Have had this item for a month or so. I don't bother to "release" the pressure (discussed in the instructions for it) and I do only fill part ways. If I get clogging I will come back and post my sins in a later update. I only fill about 10-20% not only because they instruct you to, but I don't use enough.. the oil has a tendency to get "randy".. that is to have a slightly "off" taste.. if you don't use it fairly quickly ...this is not a problem with the sprayer.. just that oils "oxidize" in the open air. I wash it after each "emptying".. they suggest you wash them every 3 months or so, so this works out nicely. I bought two, one for olive oil and one for "salad oil" (whatever vegetable oil you like). The oil sprays nicely.. I thought it would be more of a stream, but it is atomized pretty evenly over the area. The only negative I had is that I knocked it off the shelf onto the stove (about 3 ft drop) and it dented a bit. This is due to the aluminum which is QUITE SOFT. They offer a STAINLESS STEEL version of this same pump which may be considerably stiffer, but it is considerably more expensive.
Thanks for the tips! December 14, 2008 Gina Pera (San Francisco Bay Area, United States) I love my Misto. But I'm sure I wouldn't have gotten good results if I hadn't followed the tips shared by other reviewers (including to underfill, etc.). Thanks! I see they've lowered the price on Amazon now...it used to be over $20. Gina PeraIs It You, Me, or Adult A.D.D.? Stopping the Roller Coaster When Someone You Love Has Attention Deficit Disorder
Works well when it works, doesn't work too often December 11, 2008 J. Offenbach (noVA) This is a touchy little gadget which I've retired to the back of the cabinet and will likely freecycle in 2009. If it is used daily, it can work fine, but if it is not used for even a week, I have found that the spray simply doesn't work. When I first used the Olive Oil Sprayer and it stopped working, I called the company and received instructions to get it pumping. Unfortunately, I found that the time it takes to clean out the system and get it operational is better spent doing other things, so I simply use an alternative to spraying the oil. I really wanted to use this can all the time, but it became a nuisance. I do have a little sprayer which does work great and was sold in a martini set. I suspect it's because there is no oil messing up the system.
